Eliza starts this week with a gripe about the new phrases creeping into modern English language.
Lately, Eliza has heard references to people's professional 'space'. And it's not just 'space' - there's also been discussion of the 'piece'. So workplaces now have a diversity 'piece' and perhaps even a wellness 'piece'.
Eliza thought her Mum would be a willing participant in this discussion, such is Geraldine's dislike of mangled English. But Geraldine thinks 'space' and 'piece' actually speak to the new zones and norms in the workplace that are often hard to define.
Also this week, the Covid midlife crisis and how it's changing the lives of middle class women in America.
Eliza reads Lisa Millar's new book 'Daring to Fly'.
